Something to read.

One way to get back summer into our dreary autumn lives is reading. Not reading dark thrillers or a mysterious story, but reading a bright and cheerful summer novel, lets say, „Die Inseln auf denen ich strande“ by Lucien Deprijck. The novel consists of 18 short episodes about getting stranded somewhere. Alone, with a woman you absolutely don’t like, with hundreds of people on a tiny rock – one may not believe how many different ways there are existing. Thereby the protagonists strand on lonely, hostile to life, heavenly, tropic or windswept islands. They experience different destinies, find themselves in front of their dream’s ruins or get completely new chances. The stories lead into totally unexpected worlds, tell about journey’s to oneself or to fellow men and about all the important questions of life. Dramatic, witty and over and above all original.

The most scary place on earth?

Have you ever wondered where Halloween might be the most scary? That definitely has to be the “Hotel del Salto” in Colombia! The luxurious hotel opened in 1928 offers a stunning view over the Tequendama Waterfalls in more than 500 feet height. Located opposite the waterfalls and on the edge of a cliff the hotel offers a breathtaking view, yet it is closed down since the early 1990’s and was left abandoned ever since. Since the location was chosen to commit suicide several times, people call it haunted. Looks… interesting. Not a place I’d like to stay overnight though.

New England – Where autumn shows it’s most beautiful side

The so called “Indian Summer” is known as North America’s most magnificent season. Why? From early September until the end of October all broadleaf forests show themselves in the most splendid colours nature has to offer and therefore attract tourists from all over the world.

Autumn tourism in this region even has an own name: People travelling to enjoy the clear blue sky, mild climate and intensive colouring of the leaves are called “Leaf Peepers”. By the way: The reason for those outstanding shades are biochemical reactions caused by the persistent change of warm days and cold nights during autumn season in New England. A journey through the most beautiful autumn in the world is most likely to begin in Ontario.
